Software Development

Below, is a list of software projects I completed in a reversed chronological order:

Period 2005-2006

• StudentGrades
  An application to calculate the final grades of students for the Department of Food Technology (Technological Educational Institution, Thessaloniki, GREECE). The project was implemented in Python as a Tiny ERP module (currently named Open ERP).
• PracticumOffice
  A web application to assist in managing a student’s 6 month practicing period for the Department of Food Technology (Technological Educational Institution, Thessaloniki, GREECE). The project was implemented using Plone.
• InfoPoint
  A small Power Point like application for the reproduction of small presentations. It is a client/server application. The Client is the designer and Server is the player. It is promoted mostly in Hotels for the reproduction of advertisements on remote televisions. The project was implemented using python/wxPython.
  
  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

Period 2003-2004

• HyperFlow
  A web application to facilitate the automation of ISO 9001:2000 in businesses. The project was implemented using Zope during my employment in AQS as an IT Consultant.
• e.m.Learn Lexicon
  A Greek to Greek lexicon for the company e.m.Learn Multimedia (formerly known as Librocom). The project was implemented using python/wxPython.
  
  

  

  
• e.m.Learn Ancient Greek
  A multimedia application to teach Gymnasium students how to speak and write Ancient Greek. The project was implemented using python/wxPython for the company e.m.Learn Multimedia (formerly known as Librocom).
  
  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

Period 2000-2002

• EducProgs
  Development of a program called EducProgs for the Hellenic Army during my national service. The work was accomplished while working for the Training Office. The program’s main purpose was the creation of various data sheets and reports on a daily and weekly basis which were related to the educational system of the military school. The relevant data was stored in a database and the whole development has been done under ZOPE.
• MultiComp
  Τhe program’s main aim was to provide assistance in multiple comparisons of means after following the main analysis of any statistical programs. MultiComp is being used since 2000 at the Department of Food Technology for the education of students in statistics (developed in python/wxPython – my first desktop application). Web Development

The past years I was involved in many web site development projects. Some of those websites are still up and running and others were re-designed by their owners. Below, is a list of those projects in a reversed chronological order:

Period 2007-2008

• http://www.foodpress.gr
  A WordPress based blog which was the natural evolution of FoodToday.gr. It is not currently online and I am still looking for someone to take over my work.

Period 2005-2006

• http://www.karapantsiou.gr
  A Plone based web site for the KARAPANTSIOU Educational Organization of Foreign Languages in Thessaloniki, Greece.
• http://congress5.petet.org.gr
  A Plone based web site for the 5th International Congress on Food Technology, organized by the Hellenic Association of Food Technologists. It was converted to a static web site after the end of the congress and currently is not so functional.
• http://www.petet.org.gr
  A Plone based web site for the Hellenic Association of Food Technologists. Re-designed in WordPress by the association and the current web site does not reflect my work.
• http://www.foodtoday.gr
  FoodToday.gr was a Plone based web site aimed to become an informational portal related to Food Science and Technology and to promote the communication between professionals in Food Industry. It is not online anymore and it was one of my main activities when I was in Greece.
• http://www.baklift.gr
  A static web site for an elevator producer named TSIRIOPOULOS GOUNIOTIS in Thessaloniki, Greece.
• http://www.viekryl.gr
  A static web site for a glass washblows factory named Viekryl in Thessaloniki, Greece. The domain is not active anymore.

Period 2004-2005

• http://www.ciusers.gr
  A Plone based website for the Hellenic Association Hard of Hearing with Cochlear Implant. Re-designed in Joomla by the association and the current web site does not reflect my work.
• http://www.techaid.gr
  A Plone based web site for a computer shop in Epanomi, Greece. Re-designed by the owner and the current web site does not reflect my work.
• http://www.doctorpc.gr
  A Plone based web site for a computer shop in Thessaloniki, Greece.
• http://www.fri.gr
  A Plone based web site for the Forest Research Institute in Vassilika, Greece.

Period 2003-2004

• http://www.food.teithe.gr
  A Plone based web site for the Department of Food Technology, Technological Educational Institution, Thessaloniki, Greece. Re-designed in PHP by the owner and the current web site does not reflect my work.
• http://users.auth.gr/~karapant
  A static web site for the Multiphase Dynamics Group of the Division of Chemical Technology, School of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th).

Authoring

• BC thesis in greek [2000-2001]: Application of Principal Components Analysis in experimental data derived from osmotic dehydration of kiwi fruits [download pdf].
• Three articles (in greek) for the student magazine “AristonTeleion” with the following titles [1997-1999]:
